Working and learning together for Achievement

Ofsted Report

Many pupils make exceptional progress from their starting points across all subjects and key stages. This is because teachers know what gaps in understanding need to be filled and plan learning activities pitched at the correct level. All pupils, including those who are most-able, are suitably challenged and supported to make up for any lost time.

Pupils are provided with excellent support to become confident and happy learners. They are provided with healthy breakfasts and lunches and are encouraged to make good use of the sports facilities to improve their personal fitness. At lunchtime they sit down to talk and eat with other pupils and staff. Pupils appreciate the care and support provided by staff at the school. Positive, respectful relationships between staff and pupils are the norm.

The last Ofsted inspection took place in November 2016.  The school was judged as Outstanding.

We do not depend entirely on Ofsted to tell us how well we are doing and we employ a range of self-evaluation activities throughout the year that help us to gauge success ourselves.  These include teacher observations, Governor monitoring visits, Pupil Progress Assessment, Academic Review day. The Muntham House Outcomes Wheel helps us track pupils’ behavioural, social and emotional progress.  The outcome of these evaluation exercises helps to direct our priorities for the next period.  Parents are invited to complete a survey at their child’s review. If you have not already completed one of these you should contact the school, as your views are important and help us to improve.

In addition to our own self-evaluation process, we subscribe to the Challenge Partnership, which is a partnership of good and outstanding schools  that work together to lead school improvement.  As part of this service the school is subject to an annual review called a Quality Assurance Review (QAR), lead by an Ofsted inspector. This is similar to an Ofsted inspection every year.  Our last review took place in February 2019 and we were judged Outstanding.  Further information about the Challenge Partnership can be found via the following link.
